MyVet i72w Vet Table Operating Instructions

In order to turn the i72w radiographic table system on, you need to perform the following steps.

<break time=”1s”/>

First, make sure all the system components are connected.

<break time=”1s”/>

Next, turn the main power breaker on from the electric circuit breaker box.

<break time=”1s”/>

Locate the main ON OFF switch on the backside of the x-ray table support column and press it to turn the system on.

<break time=”1s”/>

Press the ON button on the console.

<break time=”1s”/>

Make sure the computer console or workstation is turned on as well. Please refer to those separate operating instructions.

<break time=”1s”/>

To operate the tube stand, you need to listen to the following instructions.

<break time=”1s”/>

When you want to unlock both the vertical and horizontal movements for the tube stand at the same time, just grasp the tube head handlebar directly in the middle under the tube head display panel.

<break time=”1s”/>

  • You can now move the tube head up or down and left to right at the same time.

You can also move the tube head in one direction only simply by pressing the directional buttons on either side of the display panel.

  • Press the up or down arrow button to move the tube head vertically only.
  • Press the left or right arrow button to move the tube head along the table top.
  • Press the diagonal arrow button to move the tabletop front to back or back to front.
  • Press the circle arrow to allow the tube head to be rotated left or right.

<break time=”1s”/>

Once any movement button is released, the tube head will stop moving in that direction.

<break time=”1s”/>

These same movement buttons are located on the table support column as well for you to use if you are on the other side of the table.

<break time=”1s”/>

Information on the tube head liquid crystal display includes the distance or S I D between the x-ray tube and the detector tray inside the table in inches as well as buttons that indicate when the auto tracking feature is engaged. The display also indicates the amount of tube head rotation as well.

<break time=”1s”/>

The auto tracking feature allows the user to raise and lower hands-free simultaneously the tabletop and tube head with the foot pedal control.

<break time=”1s”/>

To use the auto tracking feature of the tube head to the table top, the vertical S I D must be set to 40 inches only. The tube head rotation angle must be zero degrees as well for the auto tracking feature to function.

<break time=”1s”/>

When you press the 40 inch button on the tube head to engage auto tracking, the button will illuminate and the tube head will first move to where the tabletop is located. If the tabletop is set close to the floor, the tube head will move downward to that location.

<break time=”1s”/>

Before pressing the 40 inch button, be sure the tabletop is approximately set at the desired work level. If the tabletop is very low, the tube head will lower itself until the 40 inch SID is achieved.

<break time=”1s”/>

To make it easier to manage large animals able to walk, you can use the 72 inch S I D feature to place the animal onto the on tabletop without having to lift the animal.

<break time=”1s”/>

  • Be sure nothing is under the table before pressing the 72 inch button.
  • Press the 72 inch S I D button to lower the tabletop completely to the floor. The tube head will move upward and out of the way.
  • Raise the tabletop back up with the foot pedal to the desired height and then press the 40 inch button to engage auto tracking.
  • When the exam is completed, press the 72 inch S I D button to lower the table all the way back to the floor and walk the animal off the table.

<break time=”1s”/>

When the 72 inch Source to Image Distance is used for imaging, first be sure nothing is under the table before the 72 inch button is pressed.

  • Press the 72 inch S I D button to lower the tabletop completely to the floor. The tube head will move upward to provide the desired longer source to image distance.
  • For source to image distances greater than 40 inches, but less than 72 inches, the auto tracking feature does not work.
  • Use the foot pedal to raise the tabletop back up to the original tabletop height or 40 inches to engage auto tracking.
  • The tabletop and tube head must be raised and lowered manually anywhere between 40 and 72 inches.

<break time=”1s”/>

If you experience lighter or darker films, remember all i72w exposure techniques are specifically set for 40 inch or 72 inch source to image distances. If S I Ds between these two values are used, then you must adjust your exposure chart accordingly based on the inverse square law of radiation physics.

<break time=”1s”/>

  • Your most common alternate source to image distance will be 50 inches based on a comfortable working table height
  • If you are making exposures at 50 inches you must increase or raise your 40 inch exposure m A s s or milli ampere seconds settings by approximately 50 percent, multiplying the 40 inch mass value by one point five.
  • Refer directly to the technique chart when using the 40 inch distance again.

<break time=”1s”/>

In order to operate the tube head light field, or collimator light, tap the button on the top of the foot pedal or press the button on the front of the tube head.

<break time=”1s”/>

  • Turn the knobs to adjust the size of the exposure area, collimating as close to the part as possible.
  • Collimation, or adjusting the exposure area, helps reduce scatter radiation which should be part of your everyday radiation safety practice
  • Reducing scatter radiation also improves image quality.

<break time=”1s”/>

When the wall bucky stand is used for upright imaging, place the detector in the holder and adjust the height with the handle on the side of the trade.

<break time=”1s”/>

The i72w utilizes a two-step exposure switch.

The first step prepares the tube to make an exposure while the second step makes the actual exposure.

<break time=”1s”/>

  • Press the button for the first stage.
  • The preparation is complete when the Ready light illuminates.
  • After the ready light is illuminated, press the second stage of the hand switch.
  • The X-RAY exposure light illuminates during the exposure and a buzzer will sound as well.
  • If you lift your finger off the ready switch, the exposure will be interrupted and the process will have to be started again.

<break time=”1s”/>

In order to power down the x-ray system, press the OFF button on the console.

<break time=”1s”/>

Next, press the OFF button on the back of the tabletop support column.

<break time=”1s”/>

In the event of an emergency, press the EMERGENCY BUTTON located on the edge of the detector holder assembly immediately to the user’s left and just below the tabletop itself.

<break time=”1s”/>

  • In order to reset the emergency button, rotate the button clockwise to release the lock.
