MyVet i 72 w vet table- variable Source to image distance digital x-ray table

MyVet Imaging products are designed with three main concerns in mind: the veterinarian, the user, and the patient. <break time=”1s”/>

For the veterinarian, the MyVet i 72w Veterinary X-ray table system is designed to provide maximum diagnostic, clinical information.

The MyVet i 72 w unique features facilitates staff workflow, making it easier to position the animal to acquire any required image.

Most importantly, the combination of i 72 w features and workflow help minimize an animals’ stress during the procedure that contributes towards obtaining maximum radiographic image quality.

The i72w offers a unique variable 40 inch to 72 inch Source to Image Distance or S I D x-ray table that reduces penumbra and magnification geometric image distortion effects typically associated with fixed 40 inch Source to Image Distance systems found in almost all veterinary x-ray rooms. The variable 40 inch to 72 inch S I D can be achieved in both vertical horizontal planes as well.

A variable S I D can minimize penumbra effects on image sharpness especially when visualizing very small anatomical structures. As the S I D increases, the effects of penumbra blurring on image edge sharpness are reduced more of the parallel portion of the x-ray beam is used to visualize fine anatomic structures such as lung markings,  bone trabeculae or even bone lesion margins. Radiographically, sharper lesion margins between normal and abnormal bone clinically suggests the more likely the lesion is benign.

While magnification does not negatively impact the ability of a Veterinarian to make a diagnosis, a longer S I D can make it easier for the staff member to acquire and display on a monitor a complete shoulder-to-paw or hip-to-paw extremity, for example, by minimizing x-ray beam divergence that causes magnification thereby reducing the time necessary to complete such a study.

The i 72w provides many features designed to enhance workflow. A foot-activated exposure switch and collimator light button ensures complete staff control of the animal on the table at all times. Dynamic table positioning at the press of a button returns the table to either a set 40 inch or 72 inch vertical S I D. Synchronized alignment allows the X-ray tube head to maintain a set S I D with the table as it is raised or lowered. Quiet motor controls and table Bucky movement reduces animal startle reflexes and movement to help vet technicians quickly and efficiently complete an imaging exam.

Workflow is further enhanced with the i72w horizontal beam imaging capability allowing easily acquired weight bearing orthopedic exams as well as air/fluid level radiographs of the chest or abdomen when clinically indicated. System functionality also includes a vertical, 4-image stitched radiograph at 40 inch or 72 inch S I D with auto table positioning.

During emergent animal respiratory or cardiac distress treatment, obtaining a ventrodorsal or dorsoventral thoracic x-ray is important but these normal, recumbent views may only exacerbate problems for the animal already laboring to breathe under such conditions. When immediacy and animal comfort are essential and, provided the animal is not sedated and is able to walk and stand, i72 horizontal beam capability helps secure required right and left lateral images in a more tolerable upright position thereby reducing further breathing difficulty precipitated by recumbent positioning.

The MyVet Imaging i72w digital radiographic table is the first x-ray system that proactively allows veterinarians and staff to use X-ray beam geometry principles to their advantage. Instead of being bound by these principles, they may use them to improve their ability to easily acquire high quality images to make better diagnoses all while maximizing animal comfort.
